RGV Rocket Club Meeting August 15, 2024

We met at Rudy's BBQ on August 15, 2024 at 6:30pm.   Randy and Sylvia Ashley, Victor and Victor Valdez Jr. were in attendance and enjoyed good food and drinks.  We kicked off the informal meeting with discussions of our current projects and what we had on our dream lists.  Victor Jr. is working on a scratch built rocket using a wrapper tube.  Randy is working on a LOC 780 kit.  Randy then gave a financial update with $368 in the fund.  Discussion was had as whether to drop the club membership fee or retain it until we have all the club equipment purchased.  Though no decision was made everyone was leaning toward keeping the fee the same for now.  Renewals will be in January of 2025 and the current membership fee is $20.00 per year.  Randy gave an update on the field.  Good news is we have permission to use several of the fields that border our original field bringing the launch site dimension to over triple what we previously had.  Thank you to Glen Wilde and Dale Busse for the support as our landlords.  The fields are now plowed and ready for launches.  We are looking forward to our first launch of the Fall season on Saturday the 17th of August.  After adjourning we got drink refills and headed out.
